Lisa Heiserman

Faculty

Miss Lisa started dancing at the age of 3 and has studied all types of dance, including the RAD, Vaganova and Cecchetti ballet methods as well as tap, jazz, lyrical and modern. She was a scholarship student at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York at the age of 13. Miss Lisa was a company member of Ballet Repertory Theater and the Metropolitan Ballet Company. She also danced as a soloist, was a flying angel and then assistant choreographer for the Glory of Christmas and Glory of Easter productions at the Crystal Cathedral.

 

Miss Lisa got married in 2002 and has 2 children of her own. Prior to starting a family, she received her Early Childhood Development credentials and taught preschool for many years. Miss Lisa had the privilege of being certified and trained by Marie Walton-Mahon, the creator of Progressing Ballet Technique and has been teaching PBT since 2016.  She also had the honor of training under Lisa Howell of Perfect Form Physiotherapy and the Ballet Blog. She has completed multiple levels of Lisa Howell’s Dance Teacher and Health Professional Training workshops which has helped to stay on top of injury prevention and safe training practices, including studies on pointe training, hips and core, flexibility and training extreme mobility safely. She started teaching ballet in 2005. She loves sharing her passion and love of dance with all ages and levels and strives to teach her students grace, poise, confidence and discipline through strong ballet technique.
